Game reviews from someone that doensn't matter

1. Hell let loose -- 8.5/10 -- Fully multiplayer game that I spend a ton of time on. As far as the mechanics, I absolutely love this game. Combat is as realistic as you can get for a game set in World War II, and the game modes are engaging and require you to play as a team. Some would say that the movement and gunplay are slow and clunky, but I argue are essential to a game that should have players prioritizing a tactical play style versus the normal run and gun that we see so often in modern FPS's. There a few servers with passwords or microphones are required to participate. Overall, the community is great and welcoming to newcomers (a few notable exceptions to this) with active discords to notify of server seeding and other community events.

2. Call of Duty: Black Ops -- 9/10 -- Yes, THE original. Not 2 through 7. Honestly, what's not to love about this game? Let's start with the campaign. This is one of my favorite campaigns and it certainly got me obsessed with Cold War covert operations. I really liked how it drew from real events in history and intertwined the fictional story of Mason and the numbers stations. It was fun to see JFK, Castro, and others in the game and become characters of this story. Also, a great end to the story as you find the Rusalka in the Gulf of Mexico. Overall, I enjoyed the campaign on my first playthrough and I continue to enjoy playing it to this day. As far as multiplayer goes, I think this is where Call of Duty peaked, especially as far as Treyarch's games go. Gameplay was relatively fast for its day, but very slow compared to its modern day counterparts. To me, the speed is perfect where you can enjoy yourself and not be assaulted with a sliding player no-scoping you as you turn a corner. Gun play is superb, with a special mention to the FN FAL, Stoner 63, and Olympia (my beloved). Overall, I think this is as close to perfection as Call of Duty has or will come as far as balancing all elements of gameplay for an enjoyable experience.
